All of our reusable Black's files and podiatry probes are manufactured from medical-grade stainless steel.
This premium metal alloy provides the corrosion resistance required for repeated clinical use. Each instrument can withstand ultrasonic decontamination and repeated high-temperature autoclave sterilisation.
Our collection of blacks nail files includes straight and swan-neck patterns, with round, flat, scoop, and spoon-head working ends for different clinical settings.
Head size determines access depth and surface contact area within the nail sulcus.
A micro-head file has a compact tip for detailed work in delicate areas. Fine working ends are intended for controlled treatment in nail grooves and harder-to-reach areas.
Large-head blacks files provide greater surface contact for smoothing and debris removal, including more demanding nail work.
To sterilise podiatry probes, we recommend automated cleaning in a washer-disinfector using a suitable medical-device detergent, followed by inspection before sterilisation.
Steam sterilise at 134–137°C for a minimum of three minutes, using a properly maintained and validated steriliser. Follow the relevant HTM 01-01 guidance and your clinic’s established decontamination procedures.
Neither format is universally better - the choice depends on workflow and procedure.
Single-ended instruments offer focused handling and a dedicated working end. Double-ended blacks files combine different cuts, or straight and curved working ends, on one ergonomic handle.
Yes - along with our core reusable ranges, we supply single-use blacks nail files.
Individually pouch-packaged and sterilised, these single-use options are a reliable option for high-turnover clinics.
Our podiatry tools are manufactured in accordance with ISO 13485 standards and hold the appropriate UKCA and CE medical-device certifications for use in the UK and Europe.
When selecting an instrument, check the individual product information and any accompanying regulatory documentation, as requirements can vary by product and market.
